Where our story began, and where our story will end. 제가 과테말라에 가는 길에 새로운 경험에 대해 생각하던 것이 불과 5일 전이 아니었나요? 그 당시, 저는 무엇을 기대해야 할지 몰랐습니다. 돌이켜 생각해보면, 제가 상상했던 것과는 많이 달랐습니다. 이렇게 짧은 시간에 이렇게 많은 것을 보고 배울 줄은 전혀 몰랐으니까요.비록 과테말라에 도착한 지 며칠 되지 않았지만, 훨씬 더 많은 시간이 흐른 것처럼 느껴집니다. 정말 일주일도 안 된 것 맞아요? Wasn’t it just 5 days ago that I was making my way to Guatemala and pondering what this experience would be like? At that time, I didn’t know what to expect. Thinking back, it was much different than what I imagined it to be. I hadn’t expected to see and do so much in such a short span of time.Although only a few days have passed since our arrival in Guatemala, it feels like much more time has passed. And with over 24 hours of travel to get back to Seoul, I’d most definitely have enough. I certainly needed the time to consolidate and think about everything I had experienced during this trip. 어떤 산지든 직접 방문한다는 것은 굉장히 큰 수확이 된다고 확신합니다. 저는 커피 산지 중 하나인 과테말라를 방문하면서 커피 공급망에 대한 퍼즐을 한 조각 더 맞출 수 있었습니다. 이전에는 커피 나무에서 열매를 수확한 후 우리가 마시는 커피에 이르기까지 어떤 과정과 단계가 필요한지 몰랐습니다. 하지만 이제는 그것 뿐만 아니라 커피 산업의 지속 가능성을 위해 일하는 것이 무엇을 의미하는지까지도 더 잘 이해할 수 있게 되었습니다.I was certain about a main point of reflection: one of the biggest advantages to visiting any origin. Visiting Guatemala, one of the places of coffee origin, now gave me a more complete image of the coffee supply chain. Whereas before I did not know about or understand the many processes and steps it took from getting a coffee cherry from tree to the coffee that we drink, now I can also better understand what it means to work towards sustainability in the coffee industry. 다음에는 또 어떤 것을 배우게 될까요?I wonder what I’ll learn next!
